The Problem

Today, the concept of "fashion" is very advanced. Every woman & man wants the best pieces, only in them. Many people now have the same style because of the products promoted on social media and the brands that are linked. Many of the fabricated products cause women to dress "the same", especially. Those who are bored of this situation are in search of vintage clothes, old-style clothes, handmade knits, and designer clothes. These people now want to feel "unique" with their clothing. That's where "ORIGINALS" comes into play!

The Solution

"ORIGINALS" is an e-commerce site established in cooperation with social media and brands. The purpose; is that every individual feels "unique" while shopping. hand-knitted products and design pieces can be offered only 1 piece for sale. The brands agreed for the Shoe category will be able to sell any number of each product they wish, and will be able to add another product when the product is sold. In the bag category; 1 color from each bag will be sold.
In this way, users will be able to see each product uniquely while shopping. Since the product will be uploaded to the site up-to-date, the user's loyalty to "ORIGINALS" will increase.

User Research

Çapa 1

Proto Persona

I studied the prototype of a 32-year-old Human Resources employee living in London. Lilly commutes to work every day. Shopping is her “passion”. However, since she has no time, she can only shop online, she is shopping through the links given by the Influencers she loves. When he realizes that everyone is dressing the same lately, he gets annoyed and discovers "ORIGINALS" with unique brands and designs.

User Interviews

I interviewed 4 people who regularly shop here and love to shop, ages 18 and 50. This was all a very good experience for me. I learned a lot by asking people about their expectations from the shopping website they prefer.
A lot of my initial ideas were thrown out after this process. It was a really valuable lesson in making assumptions before making a project

User Data Analysis

Once I finished four interviews I assorted our data as stated below. Once I had all our insights in one place I sorted those findings into that gave me a better idea of what our user's concerns were. The categories I created included budget, trying to look different, and style.

Summary of findings from the user interviews:

  • Three out of four participants prefer to be directed to the shopping site via social media links and buy the clothes that celebrities like.

  • Two out of four participants said that they could not allocate a budget to shop regularly.

  • Three out of four participants said that even if they see the classic branded shoes on the site on someone other than themselves, they will feel good because they know that they did not buy from the site they bought.

  • All of the participants found the idea of having 1 of each product very logical when shopping. This way everyone will feel special.

  • Three out of four participants expressed their discomfort with "dressing the same".

  • Three out of four participants noted that customer reviews of the products are helpful.

  • All the participants need is "online shopping"

  • Three out of four participants preferred to shop online because of its convenience and wide range of selection

Empathy Map

Now that I had an overview of what our users looked like I was able to create an empathy map.
This would give me a clearer idea of the user I was designing for and let me better understand how to meet their needs when designing my app.
Through the interview process, I learned how important it is to people's desire to dress differently, the value of online shopping and the importance of social media today.

Definition

Çapa 2

The main findings showed me the path I had to go through in order to move forward with the project.
Using the insights to craft "How might be" questions was my way to generate creative solutions while maintaining focus on the right problems to solve.

  • How might I make the users feel confident they have all the information they need?

  • How might I support the users to efficiently contact the shoping website?

  • How might I help the users to efficiently make a shopping?

  • How can it be ensured that the products are delivered perfectly?

  • How might to advertise more effectively because only 1 of each product is uploaded?

  • How might to way can be followed to collaborate with more designers and brands?

Problem Statement

Lilly is a 32-year-old, working as an human resources who likes to spend time with his friends, loves to shop, spend time on social media and follow the links given by influencers. Lilly's need is a shopping site with unique designs, where pieces of different styles are sold, and where they will encounter fewer of the same combinations on the road or at work. Because, Lilly now wants to feel unique in every piece she wears, she wants to combine different styles, wear designer products, to minimize the possibility of wearing the same thing with anyone on the road, "ORGINALS" site meets exactly what Lilly needs!

Ideation

“I Like, I Wish, What If” Method

Examples of things we Like:

  • Examine the shopping website in detail.

  • Meet the products of many designers, brands and talented housewives!

  • Buy products suitable for you on the site with the policy of 1 for each product!

Example of things we Wish:

  • I wish I had bought that product the first time I saw it!

  • I wish I had acted faster and bought it.

  • I wish they would sell more designs, designer items!

Examples of ideas we had when we asked What if? :

  • What if my products don't arrive on time?

  • What if other people buy the products before me?

  • What if the 38 number of this product is not included?

  • What if it's not for my body?

Feature Prioritization Matrix

After I had a good assortment of ideas, I asked ourselves which of these Lilly would view as the most useful and which we think would be the most achievable. Some of the focus features I wanted to create were:

  • Starting with the policy of "1 piece of each product".

  • Increasing the Brand, Design and Designer option over time.

  • Website promotion in collaboration with famous names on social media.

  • Option to receive information by e-mail when a new product is uploaded, by adding the brands you like to your favourites.

Storyboard

Now that I had an idea of the features I was going to try to implement I could start to consider how these would work for our users. I created a Storyboard to visualize exactly what value ORGINALS could bring to a user.

Competitor Analysis

I first looked at apps called ASOS and Boohoo.
The most distinctive features of ASOS are; The presence of more than 850 brands on the site, its existence as one of the oldest internet shopping sites established, and the fact that it always moves itself forward are its most important features. There is a website with a very cool and simply UI design.
Bohoo Website, on the other hand, is one of the most recommended sites among influencers in today's social world. The UI design of the site is more analog, vintage looking. However, its usage is somewhat complicated.
ASOS had probably the most popular feature; users can understand the site much more easily, apply and select commands. Keeping some features simple made the site appear more minimal. In addition to these, ASOS had an impressive and cool interface.
After this research; I am very excited to think to design a very impressive & clear & minimal interface for ORIGINALS.

ASOS's "woman" page, which looks clear and cool. Adding categories according to trend concepts has made it easy for the user to use

The concept used on the homepage of Boohoo; Frames from an analog & vintage looking photoshooting.

Strengths are competitor apps :

ASOS :

  • Cool UI, great features, too many brands, one of the first internet shopping sites that come to mind, known by everyone.

Boohoo:

  • Analogue look, most visited website by young people, brands recommended by influencers.

Paper Wireframes

I sketched out my ideas for the pages of the design of the app. I ended up using my sketches to build the paper prototype in Uizard.

Wireframes

Then I moved on to transforming my sketches into low-fidelity wireframes. This enabled me to visualize the content without the distraction of UI concerns and focus on what the app needed–-the most vital content, solid information architecture, and usability.

Mood Board

Once I had gone through several rounds of Mid-fidelity wireframing, I created a mood board for my app. The board reflected the brand platform I had created– unique pieces & give me inspired designs & color tones & minimal interior design & research of influencers' agencies is a fitting deal.

High Fidelity Screens

User Testing + Outcomes

Çapa 5

I conducted remote usability testing using a high-fidelity desktop prototype. It was conducted to test the flow of design, ease of navigation, and the extent to which the design accurately reflects the brand's values. The test was also used to see whether the design solves the user's needs and pain points that were captured during the research phase.

  • The test was conducted with a total of four participants between the ages of 18 and 50.

  • On the Shopping Bag Page, participants noted that Quantity should include an icon to make it easier to edit.

  • Users wanted more frequent product uploads.

  • The category option should be more detailed.

  • A page with a combination proposal should be added.

  • There should be a live support button.

Conclusion

Çapa 6

This project, which is one of my first UX studies, was a learning experience that truly taught me a number of important skills that a UX Designer needs. With my newly attained knowledge and skills, I feel more confident in my ability to tackle new projects.
